ABOUT ME
BIOGRAPHY
Leslie Miller
was born and raised in NY where she spent 18 years in the fashion industry,
frequently designing and sewing her own clothes. It was there she started
painting in pastels, taking classes at the prestigious National Arts Club in
Gramercy Park. After leaving NY and traveling for several years, she settled
down in Colorado. She rediscovered her passion for art and has been painting
ever since, exploring pastel, acrylic, and watercolor.
Today
Leslie lives in Denver, where she also teaches acrylic landscape classes. She
claims her apartment looks like an art-supply store met an art gallery and
exploded. When not at her easel, you can find her merrily traipsing through
thrift stores, loudly out-singing contestants on The Voice, and enjoying the
gorgeous nature Colorado has to offer.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“I create art to express my awe of nature’s beauty, my love for vibrant color, my passion for form, line, texture and the rhythm of the painting process.
I love experimenting with different tools, techniques, and mediums, and getting completely lost in the painting process. There comes a point when no matter what I had in mind, the painting itself tells me what it needs and takes me in different, previously unknown directions. I find painting fun, exciting, and sometimes even meditative. I hope you will see those qualities in my work.”
